Coventry Three Spires Round Table Sprinkles Some Christmas Happiness

With just £30,000 left to raise of the Coventry and Warwickshire’s Breast Cancer Unit Appeal fundraisers have welcomed a £500 Christmas donation from Coventry Three Spires Round Table.

“This is a fantastic Christmas gift to the Appeal” Adela Appleby Head of UHCW Charity said “It’s with thanks to local organisation like the Three Spires Round Table that we will hit the Appeal target and Coventry will have its new breast screening unit”

In the UK 1,000 women a month die of breast cancer. As more than 90% of all women diagnosed with breast cancer at the earliest stage survive for at least five years, its important to diagnose breast cancer as soon as possible.

UHCW Charity launched the £400,000 Appeal in May 2014 and hopes the new breast screening unit at the City of Coventry Health Centre will be open in 2016. As well a funding the capital work to create the unit the appeal will provide state of the art breast screening equipment with innovative new imaging technology that will more accurately identify breast cancer.

“Our appeal is important because it means we will be able to screen an additional 10,000 women than we can at present – this means that if they have breast cancer they can be treated quickly Adela said “Our appeal will save lives”

“As an organisation working for the good of the Coventry community, we are very pleased to be able to support this very important local appeal” Dhiran Vagdia of Coventry Three Spires Round Table said “ We hope our donation will help them to hit the appeal target early in the new year”
